Based in any of our Ontario offices and in a hybrid role, the Licensed Canada Lands Surveyor (CLS) will report to the General Manager, Geomatics, and will have a wide range of duties which ultimately focus on land surveying project management for Canada Lands. You will be part of a team that offers a full range of traditional surveying and mapping services to private and public sector clients across Canada.

What You’ll Do:

The Canada Lands Surveyor will be part of the Geomatics team. You will:

  • Work with the support of Project Coordinators for bidding and proposal preparation, project setup, logistics, resource and technical planning and execution, billing, and collections
  • Undertake project management of complex cadastral surveys for land development, retracement, reserve additions, land claims, flooding rights, and other services within and adjacent to Canada Lands
  • Supervise field crews both in the field and remotely from the office
  • Supervise drafting as well as QA/QC staff in the creation of cadastral survey products
  • Check and sign cadastral survey plans and reports
  • Engage directly with First Nations clients, related government agencies, and stakeholders to determine and fulfill goals and requirements
  • Be responsible for internal and external client relations and business development
  • Work together with other TULLOCH business lines, including Planning and Engineering, to provide top level integrated services to our clients

Who You Are:

  • You have 5+ years of professional cadastral surveying experience in Canada Lands.  
  • Ideally, you have a similar level of experience as a cadastral Ontario Land Surveyor.
  • You have an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of state-of-the-art land surveying equipment and techniques
  • You are able to demonstrate understanding and sensitivity toward First Nations history and perspectives
  • You have experience working effectively within cross-disciplinary teams
  • You have an aptitude for business development and exercise independent judgment in alignment with business objectives
  • You are able to travel and complete site inspections and fieldwork when necessary

The ideal candidate will be a Licensed Canada Lands Surveyor (CLS). Additionally, you should have:

  • High motivation with results-oriented focus
  • Superior organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to manage and navigate confidential and sensitive data and matters
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
